Last week

Lord Evans dropped by after 7 years to say hello and recommended a truckload of anime series. Since Breaking Bad, I have developed an aversion to longer multi season series, so I told him to list down only 9-10 episode shows.

Arcane did to me what Animal did to my Alpha male friends. It got me high and crazy and kicking, and never before had I felt a desire this intense to get my fists into the metal gloves and crush some rocks. Powder was crazy, and Heimerdinger was cute and wise. It was a high-octane swashbuckler. The graphics were absolutely stunning, and the plot kept me on my toes.

The other day, my tooth began sprouting again and my gums became all red and swollen and tender. Since there was no ice to numb the pain, I recommended ice cream to myself. And then like a complete fool, I selected the worst ice cream. Worst because it had fragments of pista, and pretty pointy ones, and it was a nightmare diverting the pista while holding the ice at the spot I was supposed to, all that using the stupid tongue.

I also discovered the Amul rabri, which is extremely high on sugar, but extremely delicious and impossible to refuse.

After having consumed regrettable amounts of rabri, I tried to compensate for my excesses. To be honest, sprouts don’t taste as bad as those reels pretend they do.

I also walked around 4.5 km in the rock garden. That’s enough atonement if you ask me.

Coming back, I did some pyqs. The aim was to finish it by today so that the next 2.5 months could be dedicated to cramming.

Also prepared comprehensive Vijayanagar notes from 5 sources. But I am sure UPSC will ask from the 6th source.

Enough adventure. Will try to update as more interesting things happen.

Breaking Bad

Finally finished Breaking Bad.

The series was a slow burn, but in the last season, things escalated quickly, to the extent that the last episode felt rushed. The brilliance of Breaking Bad is in its characters charting diverse distinct moral journeys through the episodes.

I liked Pinkman more than Heisenberg. Saul Goodman was great.

Can watch at 2x.

Some movies

Recently, I watched a few good movies. Here’s the list.

The fight against patriarchy gets action packed.

Wrapped in comedy, the movie is centered on an important social theme, but it never becomes preachy. Totally worth the time.

It’s by Ghibli. And that’s enough review.

I think it’s not a love story. Rather, it’s a story about letting go. And so well made, it lingers on well after the credits roll.
